 This is a classic reproduction of the jacket issued to US Naval aviators in the 1920s and '30s. Its weight was ideal for closed cockpit wear, as well as open cockpit flight in moderate temperatures. The Cockpit® Type 440 (G-8) has all the details of the original, including: button closure cuffs, zippered sleeves, two button-flapped front cargo pockets with side-entry handwarmers, inside map pocket, inside wind flap, side adjustment straps, underarm gussets, smooth 100% acetate lining, heavy duty brass zipper, and the famous diamond shaped elbow reinforcement patches for greater durability and wear resistance. The leather is government-spec goatskin, making this the perfect flight, motorcycle, or general-wear jacket. A tough, lightweight jacket and something a little different from the typical A-2s or G-1s. Made in the USA.
