This outstanding watch by Benrus is a reproduction of the battle-proven wristwatch issued to airmen, soldiers and sailors during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. These watches conform to rigorous US Military specs and features a stainless steel water resistant case, Swiss mechanical movement with 17 jewel mechanism, luminous dial and hands, OD green tropical weather strap, and "hack" feature. The "hack" feature stops the sweep second hand when the crown is pulled, allowing servicemen to synchronize their watches.
Benrus has supplied millions of watches to the US Military since WWII and many of these watches have become treasured heirlooms. This authentic reproduction, re-issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of D-Day, is made to the same exacting standards as the originals and serves as a wearable testament to some of the greatest moments in the history of our country. Comes with a zippered canvas and leather storage case.
Note: this is a WWII-style mechanical wristwatch. It does not use batteries like modern watches; instead, the watch must be manually wound via the crown.
